YESTERDAY, WE TOLD you about Aidan Walsh, an 18-year old from Co. Clare, who has found himself on the cover of Italian Vogue this month.

But what’s that on his neck there? A hickey?

This morning, Walsh appeared on RTÉ Radio 1′s The Ryan Tubridy Show and explained the whole thing.

“They decided that they’d like me to have a lovebite on my neck,” he explained. “And I thought they were going to do it with make-up ’cause, you know, there’s a team of professional make-up artists there.”

They kind of did try for a minute and then they rubbed it off. It wasn’t very good, it didn’t look realistic.

So, what did they do? Get a hoover?

They tried pinching my neck and that went red for a few seconds, and then it just faded away. They decided that the only way to actually give me one was to physically give me one, so one of the make-up assistants had to give me one on my neck.

Welp, that’s quite a day in the office.

Walsh told Tubridy that it wasn’t actually as awkward as you might think.

At the time, I thought it was really funny. There were a lot of people there. It wasn’t a big thing.

As for what he makes of being featured on the cover of one of the most prestigious magazines in the world? Well, he wasn’t expecting it at all.

It was a huge buzz. I had no idea I was going to be anywhere near the cover. It wasn’t until a few days ago that I was just tagged in something on Instagram and I went on and I was like, “That’s the cover.” I really had no idea I was going to be on it.
